1. Student will demonstrate a fully proficient level of performance on all of the following Learning and Employability Profile Traits:
  Commitment to Quality – Gives best effort, evaluates work, and completes work to quality standards.
  Work Habits – Displays initiative, flexibility, and time management.
  Communication – Reads with comprehension, writes with skill, and communicates effectively and responsibly in a variety of ways and settings.

  Attendance and Punctuality - Is responsible regarding regular attendance and punctuality.
  Personal Appearance - Dresses appropriately at the work place.
2. Student will demonstrate knowledge of individual differences including children with special needs by adjusting projects to a variety of skill levels.
3. Student will address each child or student by their given name.
4. Student will demonstrate appropriate physical contact.
5. Student will respectively greet and say good-bye to children and when applicable parent/guardian.
6. Student will model respect for others regardless of race, sex, or ethnic group, or culture.
7. Student will foster self-help skills in young children; such as, eating, dressing, using toys and equipment and clean up.

9. Student will demonstrate age appropriate expectations for children’s behavior.
10. Student will demonstrate their knowledge of development to typical adult/child interactions.
11. Student will demonstrate knowledge of techniques of positive discipline such as, but not limited to, anticipation, redirection, natural or logical consequences.
12. Student will apply knowledge of social development to typical age appropriate issues such as, but not limited to, separation anxiety, making friends, making decisions.
13. Student will encourage and model ways of treating others that foster friendship and cooperation.
14. Student will reflect on child’s behavior to assess the most appropriate action.
15. Student will demonstrate flexibility.
16. Student will encourage process not product when working with children.
17. Student will encourage children to ask questions.
18. Student will talk with children and demonstrate effective listening skills.
